RECENT PROJECTS

Family Home, Reigate, Surrey
Some projects are easy, simply because you find that you are on the same wave-length as your client. This was one of those projects. We’ve been making curtains and soft furnishings for Laura for both properties with very little guidance from ourselves, for the last few years. She has an excellent eye for ‘mixing’ things up, doing the unexpected, painting a ceiling to match a wall…..the fact that it brings it down a little to make the snug a little ‘snugger’ brings a clever twist. Pendant ceiling lights that deliberately don’t match but compliment, to catch your eye in a double-take, a little single-seated area near a bookshelf packed with fabulous and thoroughly used cookbooks in a kitchen……and lots of lovely artwork, much of which is her son’s. It’s interesting wherever you look - a family home with style AND substance.
So the window dressings needed to be big and bold to bring it all together.
And they did……single sweeping curtains that span a wall-width of window on two sides, for a dining area that links a beautiful open kitchen space to the garden. Roman blinds with an over-sized mono-chromed print for a games room that smack ‘big prints work’, and subtly for bedrooms introducing a sense of calm.
It’s a house you walk into, love it immediately and know exactly why.
